Bogota, The Capital of Colombia

Bogota is thebiggest city in Colombia. It is the Capital of the country. Bogota is a metropolitan city. It about 2.600 meter high. This city is one of the most higher ctiy in the world. Bogota is included int the Cundinamarca Departament it is about 23.600 squares kilometers.

Bogota is the center on the country. It has about 7 million habitants. It is the main comercial, industrial and cultural center of the Colombia. Bogota is located in aa valley of Oriental montain in the Andes.

The main place in Bogota is the Square Bolivar. This square is the heard of the capital, other place to visit is La Candelaria zone, It has several museums, cultural scenery and art exhibitions. In Bogota you can know a lot of churches as Santa Clara, San Francisco, San Ignacio and the more important The Cathedral, It is located in Square Bolivar. The most importan Museum in Colombia is Gold Museum it contains a testimony to native Indian culture. Other museum is The National Museum. Bogota is the head quarters of the power executive, legislative and judicial ot the Country.

Near Bogota there is a lake called Guatavita. It is very important for the story of Bogota. It used to do ancestral ceremonies.
